Phone it in Friday LXIII: YouTube Roundup XIX: Bull Terrier Edition, Part X

Murphy is back in the spotlight with this week’s edition of Phone it in Friday/YouTube Roundup.  I haven’t been churning out low-quality content as much lately (unless you include my rambling scribblings on this blog), so I’ve just got a couple of Murphtastic vids to share.

On deck:  Murphy meets classic rock, and drifts between planes of consciousness:

Phone it in Friday LXI: YouTube Roundup XVII: Bull Terrier Edition, Part IX

My eleven-year old bull terrier, Murphy, continues to be a source of inspiration for yours portly.  It’s remarkable how just watching her sleep draws in viewers like moths to a wardrobe.  Only women and dogs can elicit so much sympathy and love for doing so little, and Murphy is both.

This week I’ve got an adorable video of Murphy snoring her brains out, and another video in which she establishes her “urinatical” control over a far-flung patch of gas station dirt.

TBT^4: Big News: TPP is Going to the Dogs

Roughly three years ago I adopted by dog, Murphy.  She is a bull terrier—think of Spuds MacKenzie or the Target dog, Bullseye—and is now eleven-years old.

Murphy is still much the same as she has always been.  She’s a bit slower now than she was when I first got her, but if she sees a squirrel or a bird or a cat, she can really hoof it.

These days, she spends most of the time lounging next to me when I’m home, or lounging out in the sun.  During our recent trip to see my older brother in Indianapolis, she took great pleasure in his small backyard, which had plenty of sunny spots for her to enjoy.

She also really enjoyed his couch.

She is a good, sweet, stubborn old girl, and I’m very thankful for her.  She’s my chocolate chunklet.

With that, here is “TBT^2: Big News: TPP is Going to the Dogs“:

TBT^2: Happy Birthday, Murphy!

This past Saturday my sassy old bull terrier, Murphy, celebrated her eleventh birthday (humorously enough, she and my recent ex-girlfriend share the same birthday).

The old girl is doing well enough.  I adopted Murphy when had just turned eight, and I can tell she is slowing down as the years progress.  She still has a bout of the “zoomies” in the evenings before bedtime, but that usually wears her out.  Mostly, she spends her days lounging like a diva and begging for scraps from me, her all-too-manipulable owner.  As I write this post, she’s relaxing on the floor near me, and I can tell she is considering whether or not she wants to get up and go out—which, when she hears the clackety-clacking of my keyboard, she usually wants to do!

According to the American Kennel Club, the life expectancy for a bull terrier is between twelve and thirteen years, though I have known of bull terriers that live longer (interestingly enough, the miniature bull terrier has a similar life expectancy).  Other than slowing down a bit, I don’t think Murphy is going anywhere anytime soon, but she is nearing the end of the breed’s average life expectancy.

Here’s hoping the old girl has at least a few more birthdays in her.  She’s a good, albeit sassy, dog, and I’m thankful to have this chubby, stinky old diva in my life.

With that, here is 15 June 2023’s “TBT: Happy Birthday, Murphy!

Phone it in Friday LX: YouTube Roundup XVI: Bull Terrier Edition, Part VIII

After a bit of a dip in views, Murphy is starting to earn his keep again with the latest round of Murphtent (Murphy content).  Considering I feed, bathe (sometimes), clothe (not really), and shelter her, the least she can do is get strangers to gawk at her lazy antics on YouTube… right?

Well, it turns out yours portly can only come up with so many ways to narrate his dog sleeping, so I just have two Murphy videos this week—but they’re good.  Finger lickin’ and grass eatin’ good!

Phone it in Friday LIX: YouTube Roundup XV: Bull Terrier Edition, Part VII

It seems that Murphtent (Murphy content) on my humble YouTube channel is no longer putting up the big numbers like it once did, and subscribers have settled in around 143 (at the time of writing—Wednesday, 15 May 2024).  It’s also difficult to come up with new ideas for videos about a dog who basically eats, sleeps, eats grass, sleeps in a different position, eats poop, sleeps some more in some other weird spot, and complains about not getting enough to eat.  Still, she’s a cutie pie, and I love her chunkiness to death—-even if she doesn’t make me Internet rich.

That said, Murphy continues to be a source of adorable haughtiness in a world full of bad news and bad ideas.  This week, I’ve got Murphy sleeping in an odd position; Murphy trying to play it cool; and Murphy sleeping in a cute way.

Lazy Sunday CXLV: Murphy Vids, Part II

My fat dog Murphy is the gift that keeps on giving.  Well, actually, she’s a huge drain on my financial and temporal resources, but, hey, who can put a price tag on love?

But back to that gift giving comment.  Murphy does bring in the views to my YouTube channel, which—like most of my artistic endeavors—would probably be a massive flop if I didn’t have a cute, sassy, ornery dog to showcase to the content-hungry masses.

So, here are the three latest editions of Phone it in Friday featuring my lovable, stinky bull terrier, Murphy:

Happy Sunday—and Viewing!

Phone it in Friday LVIII: YouTube Roundup XIV: Bull Terrier Edition, Part VI

The Murphtent (Murphy content) on my humble YouTube channel has really helped the channel grow.  Unfortunately, I’ve been stalled at about 126 subs (at the time of writing) for about a couple of weeks.  Perhaps you, dear readers, can make some magic happen?  Wouldn’t it be glorious for yours portly to be monetizing his fat dog by the end of the year?  All it takes is 500 subs and 3000 (!!!) watch hours.  I’m sure some of you know 500 people with unlimited free time, hmmm?  I know for a fact that several of my readers have nothing but free time.  Get to watchin’!

In all seriousness, here is what to expect this week:  Murphy ensconced in pillowy comfort; Murphy sunbathing; and a special guest appearance by my dad’s dogs (and my unfortunate father) at a local graveyard—spooky!:
