My humble YouTube channel continues to grow (121 subscribers at the time of writing) thanks to Murphy‘s popularity. She loves the camera, and the people love Murphy.
I’ve been posting videos of Murphy to my YouTube channel, and they’ve been catching on quite nicely. It seems that narrating my fat dog’s antics is an easy way to distract people from their bitter ennui for a few seconds—or, you know, people just like cute dogs.
Whatever the case, I’m never one to work harder than necessary, so I’ve been posting compilations of Murphy’s videos to this humble blog. Now I’m sharing the first three of these posts here.
“Where are the links to the videos, Port?” I hear you cry. Reposting them here defeats the point of Lazy Sunday. So click on the original posts and find three succulent videos each—a total of nine toothsome morsels of canine cantankerousness:

Other Lazy Sunday Installments:
My humble YouTube channel has been thriving of late (112 subscribers at the time of writing, largely due to Murphy‘s popularity. It turns out people love dogs—who knew?
So I’m keeping a good thing going and continuing my Attenborough-esque “documentaries” of Murphy’s amusing habits. Here we’ll see her at night, at home, and in the early morning.
My YouTube channel continues to grow; at the time of writing, I have 97 subscribers—tantalizingly close to 100.
The source of this growth is my chubby bull terrier, Murphy. I started doing David Attenborough-style nature “documentaries” about her various exploits and foibles, and people sure seem to love my sassy, fat, adorable dog.
This week I’m showcasing some more Murphy content (Murphtent?) for your viewing delectation.
Hello, dear readers. Yours portly is exhausted after a very busy week. I worked until 9:45 PM and 8:45 PM Thursday and Friday nights, respectively, and spent a good chunk of the week preparing for a big beauty pageant at the school (I was not a participant, to be clear; I ran the lights and sound equipment). I also announced my first ever lacrosse games—an interesting experience. On top of all that, I released a new album, Epistemology.
Needless to say, I’m taking yet another Saturday off. My apologies to subscribers. I’ll make it up to you soon with some tasty posts. I just ran out of steam and, honestly, don’t feel like writing today. I don’t want to get into the habit of missing posts, but I have bigger demands on my attention at the moment than slamming out blog posts. Next week is the annual Music Festival, which itself is a daunting undertaking. I might finally get to sleep after next week (if Murphy will let me!).
So, here’s a YouTube playlist with Epistemology. Y’all should really listen to it; it’s some of my best work.
Cheers!

How many Roman numerals can one man slam into one blog post title? Three (III), apparently.
But you’re not here for the Roman numerals (or are you?)—you’re here for low-quality, mass-produced, trashy content. This week, I’ve got the goods—the stinky, fetid, nasty goods.
Actually, it’s all quite family-friendly. This week, I’m featuring some recent YouTube Shorts of my chubby, sassy bull terrier, Murphy.
I finally groped my way up to the attic (my ankle is healed enough to allow it now) and pulled down the Christmas tree I purchased a few years ago. It was well past time. I still have a couple of Halloween decorations hanging up—yeesh!
Being one to never let a good thing go to waste, I decided to take some pictures of my tree, as well as make a video showcasing the little guy in all his multicolored glory.
I head back to the orthopedist today for an update on my broken ankle. If all goes well, I should be looking at another five weeks in a boot—no surgery, no cast. Praise the Lord!
The ankle is already starting to do better. I can get around reasonably well in the boot, and my speed is up. I’m getting better at walking on crutches, and can even go around my house without the boot.
Still, it hurts. It’s not excruciating, but it’s constant. It’s rare that I get my foot and ankle comfortable, to where I don’t feel anything. Certain movements or positions still send a sting of pain, but it’s nothing like last week, when one morning I couldn’t put on a pair of socks by myself, and had to concentrate on my breathing while my longsuffering neighbor put the sock gingerly over my foot.
But overall, I am very thankful. It could have been way worse.
Also, Murphy seems to be enjoying the time I spend with my leg up on the couch:
Here’s to hobblin’ for just a bit longer!

My local newspaper, the Darlington News & Press, ran an excellent column entitled “Until one has loved an animal” by Dr. Bill Holland, a Christian pastor and theologian. His column runs regularly in the paper, and he always offers up some interesting insights into faith and biblical Truth.
The piece is about the remarkable humanness that animals can sometimes possess. It’s easy for us to anthropomorphize animals’ behaviors, but anyone who has owned a dog knows that they share something with us that other animals lack.
Specifically, it’s about the remarkable spelling horse Beautiful Jim Key.
It’s hard to believe, but I got my old dog, Murphy, about two years ago. She was eight at the time, and now is ten.
She’s a stubborn old girl, but I love her. She is a chunky lady, and enjoys spending her time gnawing on a rawhide and hanging out with me.
Murphy’s recent bloodwork shows that she is in good health, although she and I both need to lose a few pounds. Otherwise, she is my sweet chocolate chunklet (as I call her), and she’s been a good first dog.
With that, here is 21 July 2022’s “TBT: Big News: TPP is Going to the Dogs“:
