My latest album, Advanced Funkification, is out now on Bandcamp and various streaming platforms. I’ve compiled the various links into one list for your convenience. I’m really proud of this release, and I think it deserves to be heard—and I think y’all will enjoy it!

For this week’s installment of Open Mic Adventure, I’m featuring the title track from the release, “Advanced Funkification“:

“Advanced Funkification” is built upon three—that’s right, three—electric basses developing a smooth funk beat, before bringing in a couple of trumpets to spice things up further. The B section transitions to a melancholy melody in 6/8 and 3/8 time, the theme developed in the first bass part and harmonized and challenged in the other two bass parts, before the triumphant, lively return of the A section’s upbeat funk.

I don’t have a handwritten manuscript for this one, as it was written entirely in Noteflight. I don’t have an image of the PDF manuscript, either, because putting that together in MS Paint would take forever. If you want to see the full score, it comes with your purchase of Advanced Funkification.
