It’s a quick Lazy Sunday this week as Dr. Wife and I hunker down in the cold. I’m casting my gaze back to two posts from earlier this week, one based in the coolness of the watery depths, the other in the fiery crucible of the modern restaurant industry:
- “New Music Tuesday II: ‘Koi Dance’” – I am really, really proud of this piece. Please give it a listen.
- “Chilly on Chili’s” – My scathing critique of my local Chili’s.
Happy Sunday!

Chilly on Chili’s is a wonderful post. You provided the best feedback ever!

I’ve received a fairly frosty response from Brinks, Chili’s parent company. They’ve basically said they’ve let the operations people know and that they won’t be communicating with me further about the issue. : D Hopefully someone at Chili’s actually read the post.

Quick/odd question. Can you say the word duty (pronounced dyoo-ty)?

Yes. Are you asking me to record myself saying it? Or is this question some kind of dad joke?

Tina and I were rewatching The West Wing and no one in it (bar the English characters) can say the word duty. They keep talking about their ‘sense of doody!’ 😂
I wondered if it was a regional thing or whether all Americans struggle with the letter t.

lol, that’s how we say it. It’s more like “dooty,” not “dyoo-ty” the way y’all would say it.
