Thanks to the gentle prodding of Audre Myers, I’ve decided to upload videos actively to my YouTube channel. I’ve had this channel for almost fifteen years (apparently), but only used it to upload a short video from the video game Spore in 2008 and some footage of my old group Brass to the Future playing “The Stars and Stripes Forever” on Independence Day 2010.
I’ll mostly upload original music. There are plenty of songs I love to cover, but uploading those covers to YouTube without obtaining permission from the original songwriters is technically a violation of copyright law. I’m a big believer in the protection of intellectual property, and I’d rather not run afoul of the YouTube police, at least not for something legitimate.
That said, readers are welcome to cover my tunes, just let me know about it.
So, I thought I’d periodically post a digest of some recent uploads for readers who want to dive deeper into my music—for free!
Here are some recent videos for your delectation:
“Two-Day Minuet for Left Hand” (short):
The final piece from Péchés d’âge moyen, I’ve always liked the jaunty feel of “Two-Day Minuet for Left Hand.”
“The Rings of Saturn” Live at F.E. Pop’s:
l honestly want this video to grow some legs. I wrote about it earlier this week, and I think it’s one of the best live performances I’ve given recently.
“The Ides of March”:
The second track from Péchés d’âge moyen II: One Week in March, “The Ides of March” is my attempt to depict musically the events of Caesar’s assassination. I’m not sure why I uploaded the sheet music for “L’il Divertimento” as the thumbnail, or why there is a 3/4 waltz section in the middle, but it’s a pretty good piece. The recording on Bandcamp is a better performance, but worse sound quality.

If you like my stuff, “like” the videos and subscribe! It’s totally free to subscribe to any YouTube content creator, and I’m not planning on doing any of the paid videos that I see some of the larger channels do. I’d love to get enough subscribers to monetize it (1000 subs and 4000 unique viewing hours in a one-year period), but that’s more of a distant dream than a concrete goal, and in a sea of excellent YouTube content, I’m a minnow.
Regardless, Happy Listening!
