Yours portly uploads a bunch of content to YouTube. Most of those videos only get a handful of views.
A couple of weeks ago, I looked at “sleeper hits,” the videos that did better than I thought they would (which, to be honest, is every video). Today, I’m looking at videos that did as poorly as expected. In doing so, I’m hoping you, dear reader, can help give these little compositions the love they deserve.
“π”
This piece from my latest album, Math: And Other Delights is something of a novelty. I should have shown the score in the video, as it gives a better sense of what is going on in the piece (a measure of 3/4 followed by a measure of 1/32—yikes!).
“Market Day”
A bit of a filler piece, I’ll confess, from White Boy Summer, “Market Day” is still rollicking fun!
“Ötzi”
Okay, I have a soft spot for this very long piece. It’s also the last track on Math: And Other Delights. It’s worth a listen, and I’m told it’s quite relaxing.
Do you part and watch these videos—please!
Happy Listening!

I like your music, Tyler, some of it reminds me of music that could work in a child’s show or film. I am impressed that you cab read and write your own music!

Thanks, John! I really appreciate that. I definitely enjoy employing a childlike sound.

Okay, good. I thought I may be being rude, Tyler. I have never been able to read music. I’d need a course in that!

No, you’re good! I like knowing what people hear in my music.
