I’m continuing to plug away at some compositions for a planned release, Koi Dance. This week I’m featuring a solemn but hopeful duet.
“Ash on the Water”—composed on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, Ash Wednesday—depicts Lenten ashes floating on the water. It is a symbol for Christ’s Grace, the Living Water. The ashes represent human mortality, redeemed through Christ’s Cleansing Blood.

It’s a short piece, but I wanted to get something out to capture the penitential, solemn tone of the observance.
