Phone it in Friday XCVI: YouTube Roundup LCVI: Mass Transit

Somehow, some of my most popular content on YouTube has been very short videos of public transportation.  No, they aren’t people behaving badly on mass transit; they’re literally just videos of various modes of transport.

Perhaps I’ve tapped into some strange niche.  Or maybe the algorithm just liked that I was posting videos from more populous regions during my recent trip to Indianapolis.

Regardless, here are some trains and planes (no automobiles, sorry) for your enjoyment:

Somehow, this seven-second video of a train has (as of the time of writing) 6333 views.  Goodness!

  1. Interesting, Tyler. What is the longest airplane flight you’ve taken? I used to be terrified of heights, thus the idea of getting on / into a plane was likewise terrifying for many years. Thankfully the Lord delivered me of all that some years ago. (Otherwise I’d never have visited Iceland or Germany!)

    • The longest flights I’ve taken have been cross-country flights from Atlanta to Los Angeles/San Diego. I’ve been to Alaska twice, too, which is a long-ish flight from the West Coast and/or Rockies to Anchorage (I was a young when I went to Alaska with my grandparents; I do recall we connected in Salt Lake City, Utah).

Oh! And I have flown overseas; not sure how I forgot about those flights! I think NYC to Ireland was around eight hours. I can’t remember how long the flights to and from Italy were, but I think they connected from NYC to Frankfurt, Germany; probably also eight or nine hours. Again, those trips were 2006 (Ireland) and 2008 (Italy), so it’s been awhile.

These days, all of my flights seem to be to Indianapolis, which is barely over an hour from Charlotte. Dr. Fiancée and I are flying to Detroit in September for a wedding, and even there, I think the flight from CLT to DTW is only two or three hours.

I so want to visit both Iceland and Germany. I feel like I need to visit Europe before it is completely Islamicized.
