Belated Wednesday Update

It’s been a whirlwind Wednesday for yours portly and Dr. Wife. Yesterday we were both worn out between her onboarding and my long day of duties around the house, and we had to get up early to head to Florence, South Carolina for a day of “life admin” errands.

We got home mid-afternoon, only to discover that Nugget, our three-legged dog, has been selected as one of a handful of canines to receive a (mostly) free photography session. Part of her prize is a full-sized portrait with Dr. Wife!

The contest winner in question

The rub is that the studio is in Summerville, South Carolina, which is a little over two hours away. After making some hasty arrangements for Murphy’s care and feeding for the next twenty-four hours, I booked us a dog-friendly hotel (and a continental breakfast—ooooh, baby!), and we’re setting out at some point this evening.

More to come, dear readers! I’ll share photos of our last-minute adventure, as well as Nugget’s grand portrait, soon!

Happy Wednesday!

Ponty’s Pics: Blakeney and the Morston Marshes

It seems that flattery motivates contributors, at least 39 Pontiac Dream/Always a Kid for Today/Mike Fahey, who has sent along some lovely photographs of a recent trip he and his significant other took to Blakeney and the Morston Marshes, both places with distinctly British names.

I won’t offer much more by way of preamble, and instead have included the body of Ponty’s e-mail to me, which explains a bit more about the pictures in detail.

They remind me a great deal of the salt marshes around Beaufort, South Carolina, and the outlying barrier islands on the way to Fripp Island.

But enough from me.  Here’s Ponty:

The Seasons in England

My newfound English readers—thanks to Audre for bring them over—have really enlivened the comment section of the blog.  One commenter, 39 Pontiac Dreamer, submitted some photographs of England in the autumn and the spring, as well as his local church; a country lane; and the local.

Here is 39PD’s e-mail to me, with accompanying pictures:

Hi Tyler,

Here are the pictures promised. The first taken in the Autumn, the second in Spring.

I’ve added a picture of our local church, St John the Baptist, the 4th is the country lane that takes us to our local, the 5th picture.

I’ve been meaning to take some more pictures of the village but the weather hasn’t been good of late. Hopefully, it’ll pick up again soon and I can pop out with the camera.

All the best

Michael (39 Pontiac Dream)

While enduring the heat and humidity of September in South Carolina, just lie back and think of England.

Thanks for sharing, 39PD!
