My YouTube uploads have been a bit barren lately, so I’ve got one quick video this week, featuring a Lipper & Mann dish or container in a flamboyant Rococo style:
Lipper & Mann Rococo Jewelry Dish
Lipper & Mann was a mid-twentieth-century company that imported ceramics and porcelains from Japan, often featuring rosy-cheeked, whimsical characters. My grandmother gave me this odd little piece some years ago, which I loved for its over-the-top flamboyance.
What oddities do you have hanging around your house, dear reader?
Happy Friday!

Somehow, your grandma trusted you would not store bugs or worms in it! I’m just guessing.

Oh, if she gave it to you as a young boy, I meant.

Haha, I think I got it in my twenties—so, yes, still a young boy, ha!

Hahaha, yes. I had a couple of saxophone mouthpieces in there. Probably not what she had in mind, but it worked!
