I’ve nearly depleted the Drawer of Forgotten Technology, but I’m continuing to uncover old stuff that I can sell/gift away/donate/play with again. Today I’m looking at some old games I’ve uncovered, both of which I am selling on eBay (here and here).
SimCity: The Card Game Starter Pack
This card game was a collectible card game from the 1990s. I only ever had this starter pack, but apparently there were boosters and rare cards, etc. I never actually played the card game, which I think my Mom gave me as a stocking stuffer one Christmas, but I loved looking at the cards, and “building” little cities by arranging them into blocks.
Scholastic Star Wars Missions
Star Wars Missions was a subscriber-only service offered through the famous Scholastic Book Fairs of the 1990s. I ordered this starter pack at one point, which includes a lot of cool stuff, but—again!—never played it! The case is scuffed, but the cards and most of the books are in great shape. The game was essentially a linear roleplaying game, with dice rolls and decisions not affecting the final outcome of the story, but rather how many points you could score on a mission.
I have some other cool old games in my closets, and I’ll be sharing more of them (including an amazing Lord of the Rings roleplaying game that I will not sell, but will feature here at some point).
