Regular readers will know how much I love animals. One of the more surprising changes as I approached middle-age is that I went from being aloof towards the animal kingdom to adoring animals. I’m not sure what changed or what clicked, but getting my dog Murphy was definitely a big step in that process.
Regardless, this Friday I have a couple of cute animal videos from below and above the waves:
Snails ‘n’ Such at Fishy Business
I shot this short video at Fishy Business in Columbia, South Carolina. The store is truly incredible, and the staff was amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. The new house Dr. Wife and I purchased came with a koi pond, and I’ve immediately taken to these fun, colorful fish. I’m hoping to get some Japanese trapdoor snails to help clean the pond—and because I love aquatic snails!
Pug Snores Sweetly
Dr. Wife and I took care of sweet Daisy, my in-laws’ five-year old pug, overnight after Christmas. She is a sweet girl! This video is from Christmas morning, when she was enjoying a good doze after an exciting day.
Happy Viewing—and Happy Friday!

Tina and I always wanted a kitten and a pup. They’d grow up together and become protective of each other. Here though, no chance. For one, it’s not big enough to swing the proverbial cat (though we do have decent sized front and back gardens) and secondly, I wouldn’t trust a pet on our roads. One day though.

Goodness! It sounds like y’all could accommodate a kitten, though, even in a small space. But I hear you about the roads—yikes!
