Midweek Recuperation

My students had their big Spring Concert last night and it was incredible.  It was the longest concert I’ve ever conducted, with over two hours of music.  As it was my “swan song” of sorts, I wanted to go out with a bang.

I’ll have a full rundown of the concert—a “postmortem,” as I call it—this Saturday for paid subscribers.  Suffice it to say that the evening went quite well and I am utterly exhausted.  I did indulge in some late-night, post-concert Taco Bell, the greatest of budget fast food joints in the modern era (somehow, Taco Bell has avoided the “enshittification” of other establishments, even if the results of consuming it result in a different from of enshittification) before the long drive home.

My poor, old bull terrier, Murphy, bore up well with my extended absences the last couple of days.  I pay a girl to come check on her once a day, but doubled it up Monday and Tuesday to make sure she had ample comfort breaks (from her comfortable life of sleeping all day).  It was nice not coming home to the enshittification of my home.

There’s little rest for the weary, although the busiest season is over me.  This morning is National Honor Society induction, which meant I had to stay late clearing off the stage from the concert.  My students helped by grabbing equipment, and one student and her family stuck around to help with the final push.

I also need to get some new phones activity and my number ported over to our new service provider, so that’s a tedious but hopefully smooth (gulp!) task to take care of after work.

So, needless to say, nothing of substance today, just another life update.  More substantive, intriguing pieces to come, not just “mesearch.”

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Oh, and stay tuned for another koi pond update next week.
