Phone it in Friday CXV: YouTube Roundup CLXXV: Star Wars Figurines

I’ve been going through a bunch of my old stuff in preparation for moving items to the new house.  In doing so, I’ve come across quite a few Star Wars action figures and collectibles.

I was a huge Star Wars kid.  I loved the original trilogy and tolerated the prequel trilogy (indeed, I was super excited for the latter).  I particularly loved the miniatures.  I’ve sold most of the action figures in the following videos to a colleague of mine—he will take excellent care of them—but I am keeping the miniatures.  They are so cool!

So, here are some recent videos featuring these fun figurines:

Star Wars Action Figures

These classic figurines were really cool.  My colleague has added them to his collection and given them a place of honor in his home.

Star Wars Miniatures Battles

This tactical tabletop wargame is pretty cool.  I was way too young and impatient to figure out the rules, but the pewter-esque figurines are beautiful.

Star Wars Figurines and Miniatures Playsets

The Kenner action figures in this video also went to my colleague.  The playsets are still in my possession; I need to find where the rest of the pieces are!

Here’s hoping everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

  1. Water damage aside, they should go for a pretty penny. A lot of Star Wars nerds would love to get their kidult paws on those.

Tina’s playing with a fake Lego kit at the moment and complaining bitterly; our crackers come with fake Lego kits and she’s whining that there are bits left over. I did buy her a real Lego kit – a Japanese cherry blossom tree which doubles as a great ornament when it’s built. She’ll have fun with that. I also bought her a light up book nook which apparently is a fiddly build but looks great when it’s built. A good distraction methinks.

I hope you, Dr Wife, Murphs and Nugget are having fun this Christmas. 👍🎅

    • I sold the basket of miniatures, plus the in-box Kenner action figures, to a colleague for $50. He probably would have paid more, but I knew he would give them a good home. He told me the Return of the Jedi figures filled in a lot of gaps in his collection.

Hahaha, there are always bits leftover! A lot of the LEGO knock-offs have gotten better, but there’s still nothing like the real thing. The Japanese cherry blossom tree sounds awesome! I have seen that set; she’ll love it! Just tell her to put the leftover pieces in a Ziploc bag for future projects.

There’s a LEGO book nook that lights up?! Whoa! I might need to get that for Dr. Wife.

We had a wonderful Christmas! With with my parents this morning, and my younger brother and his wife and kids are here, so we’re having a blast. Murphy is safely ensconced in comfort back in Lamar, with regular checks from my neighbors and a dog sitter. She is much happier being at the house as opposed to the car!

We should be getting back home today after a whirlwind Christmas tour of the Carolinas. My eighty-nine-year old grandmother is coming over today, along with some other extended family. Then Emily and I will head back at some point this afternoon.

Merry Christmas! I hope you and Tina are doing well!

  2. That’s awesome that you found them a new home. A friend of ours recently rented a booth at Comicon to sell his action figures, Lego sets, old Magic cards, etc. He had a lot of nerdy stuff and his supply was wiped out in 40 mins between two guys. 😂

Merry Christmas to you and the Missus! And a Happy New Year! 💖
