Wedding Week Madness

It’s been a wild and wooly wedding week for yours portly and Dr. Fiancée.  Our closing on Monday went well, and I spent Tuesday morning visiting the DMV, the courthouse, and the city hall of our new town to get everything setup.  I was apparently so quick, the attorneys had not gotten the updated deed to the courthouse yet!

I also picked up our marriage license.  Dr. Fiancée and I applied for it on Monday, but South Carolina requires a twenty-four waiting period, I suppose to allow cooler heads (or shotguns) to prevail in the event of impulsive (or coerced) marriages.

The past few days—even the past few weeks!—have felt like a marathon of threading needles of time.  But it’s all coming together!

Now I’m just praying my tuxedo arrives at my local Men’s Wearhouse this afternoon, so I don’t have to make a special trip tomorrow.  If that’s the only snag in this wedding week, though, I’ll be very pleased!

Dr. Fiancée and I are super excited.  We’re also ready to disconnect for the honeymoon.

To that end, I’ll be running TPP’s Greatest Hits (or something like that) next week.  I’ll catch up on comments and such when we are back.

Just three days!  We’re so close!

  2. I’m sorry I couldn’t send you anything for this week, mate. It’s been mad here lately – I won’t say why but it’s been crazy busy. If I get the opportunity, I’ll see if I can scare up a review/article in the next couple of days – before your wedding anyway and then you’ll have something. Or not. Whatever works for you. 😉

I forget sometimes that Americans wear tuxedos to get married. No such luck for me when the time comes. It’ll be a morning suit picked out by Tina. I’d wear shirt, jeans and sambas if I was allowed! 😂

    • No need to apologize! Your support, friendship, and the occasional article/review are gift enough!

Dr. Fiancée and I will have to get over there to see y’all soon. You can buy me some fish and chips at the pub—ha!

If you and Tina ever officially tie the knot, let me know. I imagine you’re already married in the spiritual sense. I’m glad we’ve found our person, my friend!

      • In the spiritual sense, yes, we’ve been married for years but we’d still like to make it official, in the eyes of God.

The best fish and chips around here is The Ship Inn, Mundsley, on the North Norfolk coast. The beer garden is huge, looking out to the North Sea. July/August is the best time to come. Hot for us but compared to the heat you get in SC, you might need a sweater! 😂

How are you doing your wedding pictures? A professional photographer or a random mix from guests? Could you send some over?

        • I hope you can both do so, soon!

Oh, man, that sounds awesome. We will all go together.

We have a professional photographer who is also a friend of ours. I’m also excited to see the pictures other people take. I will definitely send you pictures when we’re back from our honeymoon.
