Gratitude is in short supply these days. So allow me to take a moment to express a bit of it myself.
I’m quite appreciative of my readers for your continued support. Particularly, I’ve been really thankful to see a spike in comments and engagement with the blog over the past few months.
It’s a funny thing, blogging—months and years can pass with fairly consistent (and, in my case, consistently low) view counts, only to have a post explode for no apparent reason. I haven’t had any explosive posts lately, but I’ve been amazed to see how many of my readers are leaving comments—and then following up on those comments, and even talking to each other!
It’s a beautiful thing to see, and it greatly enriches the blog. I can’t always respond to comments quickly due to work commitments, but I do try to respond to them as soon as I am able. If one slips through the transom, my apologies; please know your comments are appreciated regardless.
So, thank you all again for your support. It means a great deal!
Regards,
TPP

Any time, and thank you for allowing me to post above the line. Circumstances improving, I might be able to send some more material your way soon. 👍
I’ve been trying to get more people over. I think some are following the links but they’re not staying which is a shame. Still, I’ve noticed a few more names under the line. Every cloud…

Ponty, you’re welcome to publish pretty much anything here. Thanks for being such a big supporter and contributor.
Thank you for your efforts to get more folks to visit! It’s hard to tell who is coming and staying, but not leaving a comment, and who checks the site out briefly and moves on. I think the cross-posting/crosspollination with other blogs is helpful; I need to be more frequent over at the free speech blog you’ve championed.

I have been following you for a few months now, Tyler, I have enjoyed your thoughts on life! I too wish I had more engagement but our sites are very different. You have much more commenting. Have a great weekend!

You have a site? What’s the general theme?

Yes, it is here: https://lvphotoblog.com
It’s a simple photo blog but I have lots of fun running it since 2016.

I appreciate your kind words! As for engagement, you have some pretty regular commenters yourself! I need to comment more, too. Since school resumed, I haven’t had as much time to engage with the “blogsphere” as I once did.

Thank you, there are a few regulars for sure! No worries, Tyler, your work always comes first over any avocation. 👍🏻

I should have sent you John’s blog much sooner, Ponty; it’s quite good! He takes some great photographs, and some really interesting slice-of-life ones as well.

I’ve just been over and have decided to keep the tab open so I can check in each day. He has a real eye for not only the natural world but life itself.
I’ve found that good photographers tend to be good writers too. After all, if you can map out a story with your eyes, the words follow just as easily.

Blogging really is fun, and such a great way to connect with others, bounce thoughts off of other deep thinkers, and get into respectful discussions. Zooming out, most would call it a waste of time, but it’s really fantastic.

I’m thankful that there are people like yourself, Tyler and John out there blogging. Gives me somewhere to go, to post, to get away from it all.
I thought for a while about setting up my own but it takes time I don’t have. Maybe one day…

The Ponty Post has a nice ring to it!
It does take a tremendous amount of time. It’s why I do so many “specialty” posts that follow a formula; it makes it easier to churn out pieces.
I’m glad you enjoy our blogs so much. I am finding more and more that there are tons of great blogs out there that are worth the time.

Yes, it really is a great escape, whether writing or reading and commenting. There are some very thoughtful people out there, and it’s neat to get that exposure to new (or shared) ideas.

One tip, if you want to improve traffic to your respective sites. Write an article for a site with greater traffic, underlying it with a short bio. For instance, Tyler Cook hails from the US, is a history teacher and runs his own blogsite, The Portly Politico. He has a love of music and movies.
That could improve traffic while offering the added benefit, if you posted on a British website, of giving outsiders a local’s point of view. A bit of photojournalism might be fun too.
Something to think about. 🤔
