I should probably not trumpet so triumphantly and assuredly the death or hiatus of any given thing, especially as it pertains to this blog. I’d decided to give Support Friends Friday a rest for a bit—and I did, for two weeks!—because I was running out of friends to support. At least, I was running low on new friend-generated content to champion.
Then good old Andrea the Illustrator went and published a book with a bunch of contributors. It’s called Creative Gems, Volume I, and it’s out in paperback, hardcover, and Kindle editions now.
The premise is simple: back in March, Andrea invited readers to contribute short stories for a children’s book collection. Andrea would illustrate the stories with her signature, child-friendly illustrations.
Response, it seems, was enthusiastic, with over twenty author submitting stories. The eagerness to contribute looks like it will also result in a second volume, so unless Creative Gems, Volume I becomes like The Honeydrippers: Volume I (there was never a The Honeydrippers: Volume II, unfortunately), we should be seeing more from Andrea and her contributors soon.
That’s wonderful news. For the lady that drew Oddish for me, I want nothing but the best!
Pick up Creative Gems, Volume I now in paperback, hardcover, and Kindle editions.
Aww I am so honored!
The Creative Gems book was only made possible by all these amazingly talented authors.
And the Oddish drawing is yours now!
I think that format is made to print A3. So feel free to do that if you want 🙂

My pleasure, Andrea! I need to submit a little story to the second volume.
Thanks again for the Oddish drawing! I love it. I’d love to print that up at some point; thanks for letting me know to print it in A3.
