I’ve been having some fun getting back into LEGOs—perhaps the last gasp of man-childishness for yours portly—especially since Minecraft Camp last week. Today, I’m going to look at a little spacecraft I built late last week.
This build is a little LEGO spacecraft I assembled using pieces from a huge box of LEGOs I take to Minecraft Camp. For some reason, I had these pieces in a little plastic bag, as I’d built a landspeeder-esque vehicle for Luke Skywalker, the Ewok, and the battle droid, and brought them up to Dr. Fiancée’s place last Friday. Friday evening, while Dr. Fiancée and I were enjoying some downtime before an early Saturday morning flight, I rebuilt the landspeeder into this spacecraft:
It’s a fun little build. I like to challenge myself to rebuild using a small number of pieces, with the caveat that I have to use every piece (or nearly every piece) possible. I also like to try to maintain symmetry in color and form as much as possible, although I often have to sacrifice one or the other.
Do you ever build random LEGO spacecraft (or other things) with your spare pieces, dear reader? Or do you prefer to follow the instructions? Leave a comment and let me know!
Happy Wednesday—and Happy Building!
