It’s hard to believe, but yours portly has been blogging daily (albeit with some occasional placeholder posts) for 1900 consecutive days. That’s 5.2054794520547945205479452054795 years, according to my calculator.
It’s been a fun 5.205 years. We’ve laughed. We’ve cried. We’ve disagreed.
What started as a thirty-day challenge to myself—before I even knew “Bloganuary” was a thing—has morphed into a long, strange trip.
I’ve been phoning in some blog posts lately (this post likely included), but knowing how tantalizingly close I am to 2000 is pretty strong motivation to keep going. It’s amazing how numbers ending in zero—the number for nothing!—alone can maintain momentum.
I’ve been focusing much more on composing and my YouTube channel lately (H/T to Audre Myers for proposing I start a channel), and those are absorbing most of my creative energies. That said, there’s something satisfying about writing daily. I would like to pretend I have some kind of ritual—“I wake up every morning and write for thirty minutes”—but I pretty much get it done when I can. Lately, it’s worked out that Sunday afternoons are when I knock out most of my posts for the week, but that’s not always the case.
I am still working on my third book, Offensive Poems: With Pictures. It’s coming along. The hardest part is going to be taking high-quality photographs or scans of the hand-drawn pictures. It’s also going to be pricey if I print it in full color; Amazon raised its printing prices for self-published books, and full-color printing is outrageous. I’ll have to work out a good greyscale version, or just have a Kindle option that’s more affordable.
Whatever the future holds, let’s hope I’ve got another 1900 days in me! With help from my readers, and my faithful contributors, I might be able to pull it off!

Congratulations on keeping it going! 👍
I apologise for not being more successful in getting people to come and stay. Some will check out the odd review or blog post but then they return rather than chatting here. It’s a shame.

No need to apologize, my friend! You’ve done more than most to support and promote this blog. I understand why folks would rather discuss over at TCW, where they already have their Disqus accounts neatly integrated into the comment section.
Thank you for the congratulations!

Unbelievable, some might say autistic, determination. Congratulations on 1900 consecutive days!
